The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.

I hate perfume. Almost all of it smells lousy to me. It frequently makes me very sick. People wear WAY TOO MUCH (olfactory fatigue probably makes them spritz on more and more, because they can no longer smell it, so they think they need to add more...and more...and MORE). BUT...I found the perfect perfume maker: CB I Hate Perfume . This dude understands the intracacies of scents. My current fave is At the Beach 1966. CB will also customize a signature scent, just for you. Wouldn't that be cool? Way better than a personal theme song. Some of the other  interesting scents...

At the Beach 1966AT THE BEACH 1966

The prime note in this scent is Coppertone 1967 blended with a new accord I created especially for this perfume – North Atlantic. The base of the scent contains a bit of Wet Sand, Seashell, Driftwood and just a hint of Boardwalk. The effect when you wear At The Beach 1966 is as if you've been swimming all day in the ocean.

GREENBRIAR 1968

This scent is a memory of my Grandfather, the sawmill that he owned and the stone house where he lived. It is blended with Sawdust, Fresh Cut Hay, Worn Leather Work Gloves, Pipe Tobacco and a healthy amount of Dirt. There is also a faint whiff of cotton overalls covered in Axel Grease...

MR. HULOT'S HOLIDAY

The salty breath of the breeze off the Mediterranean, driftwood, rocks covered with seaweed and the smell of old leather suitcases.

IN THE LIBRARY

English Novel taken from a Signed First Edition of one of my very favorite novels, Russian & Moroccan leather bindings, worn cloth and a hint of wood polish

WINTER 1972

A field of untouched new fallen snow , hand knit woolen mittens covered with frost, a hint of frozen forest & sleeping earth

IN THE SUMMER KITCHEN

Fresh garden vegetables & herbs on a clear summer evening with a touch of smoked old wooden rafters. My house in the country is tiny. It was originally built as the summer kitchen on my family's farm. Even after a good deal of renovation and sandblasting, the woodwork and rafters still smell faintly of two centuries of cooking. I find this comforting. Now, on summer evenings, I lie quietly on a sofa in the summer kitchen beside the open window. I watch the fireflies light across a field of alfalfa. It is totally peaceful and I'm perfectly happy. A gentle breeze blows across my face carrying the scent of the vegetables and herbs growing just beneath the window. The scent is fresh and green and wonderful.

OCEAN/ETERNAL RETURN

This is the first scent in my series of primal smells. Eternal Return is the scent of sailing toward the shore. It is a blend of Fresh Ocean Air, Wooden Ship and a faint hint of Cypress Trees growing on the cliff above the water...

TEA/ROSE

I composed this classic scent with real Tea (Indian Black) and real Moroccan Rose Absolute (Rosa Damascena). What could be more simple or elegant?
